Discipline: Agglutinative to fix cracked plastic hood
I have a John Deere 7130 tractor, and the hood has croaky back where it mounts near the hinges at the rear. JB weld didn't work what blazon of glue would work best? And I am not buying a new hood yet.

Probably need to have it plastic welded. Well-nigh adhesives don't stick well to plastic.

After welding or gluing, build it upward with fiberglass. Birddy

Grandfield, Ok.

On the plastic truck hoods I accept found smc resin will bond to the plastic. My thoughts are to use the smc resin with the recommended harder and fiber glass mat will unremarkably hold. Bounce moma Deere for the right stuff. Freightliner has some body hood gum which might work. When you observe the right strong report back as lots of cleaved dark-green hoods around.

Grind out the scissure, then rivet a slice of steel behind the crack that is around two inches bigger than the crack on all sides. And so fill with a body filler with fiberglass resin in it. That is what I have washed on my 8420hoods and it seems to work well. gearhead9056

Car body supply store will have an epoxy for repairing plastic bumpers, it etches itself into the plastic so it stick permenant and flexes with the plastic.

Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle

I recently bought a hot stapler and plastic welder to fix this kind of stuff, I highly reccomend both, the stapler makes a mechanical connection and the plastic welder only doubles it.
